In-Office Sedation Dentistry for Pediatric Patients

What You Need to Know About In-Office Sedation

At Pediatric and Adolescent Dentistry, we specialize in treating the needs of our smallest patients. As part of our pediatric dentistry services, we offer in-office sedation options. This approach allows us to calm anxious children or prevent pain and discomfort during a dental procedure. Sedation is a safe and effective tool that allows us to easily administer treatment and ensure that your child has a pleasant experience.

In-Office Sedation Options

It is normal for young patients to be nervous about visiting the dentist. Parents can help by staying calm and relaxed and taking the time to prepare their children for their cleaning or other treatment. We can take things a step further and administer a variety of sedation tools that can be used in-office. From nitrous oxide, which is inhaled through a mask, to injectable local anesthesia, we offer a few different options that can be customized to fit the needs of each pediatric patient.

Ensure Safe and Effective Treatment

In-office sedation is completely safe, and our team will continue to monitor your child throughout the procedure. Once they have been treated, any nitrous oxide will be cleared from their system. If they received an injection, they may continue to feel numb for a couple hours after they go home. Keep in mind that this will make it difficult to eat and talk, but the numbness will pass, and they will be able to eat and drink normally. We go above and beyond to make sure that all our patients are calm, comfortable, and confident in our ability to provide the best possible care. If your child needs more than just a cleaning or they are afraid of the dentist, in-office sedation can allow us to quickly and effectively perform treatment without causing any unnecessary pain or stress.
